New Blog Header

Hi Everyone! I have been wanting to change my blog header for quite sometime and so these past few days I have been playing around with it on My Digital Studio. Patty Bennett has a few tutorials and even one on You Tube that are excellent. So I decided even though it is still "Under Construction", that I would go ahead and post the new header and then change it when I have a few minutes to work on it. If you haven't tried the MDS from Stampin Up, you are missing out on a whole lot of fun. You can add and resize and put lace and bows and stamp images where you choose. You can change the color or reverse the image which is what I did to the branch. You can tilt images which I did to some of the words so they would kind of sit on the branch. The best advice I can give you right now about this program is to just jump in there and get your hands dirty. Don't be afraid. It's the only way to learn and to become comfortable with your creativity. The possibilities are endless. And if you are into scrapbooking, then this has your name on it!!! If you are interested in the MDS or have any questions then email me! I would love to hear from you!

Leadership News Continued

So here is a picture of inside the Gaylord. Yep, it is inside even though it looks like it might be outside. I didn't leave the Gaylord for three days, yet it seemed like I was outside every time I walked through the gardens. There was a water canal with a boat that you could ride in like a little tour. Not sure what the tour guide was telling the people in the boat ........and over here is Room 1o1!!!!! But seriously the grounds were gorgeous and the plants and flowers were amazing. A lot of the Christmas decorations were up still and they were just starting to take some of them down on Friday.

So here is another of my swaps that I made. It was made with the Nature's Walk Set. Love, love this set. For the ribbon, I just twisted it twice. Used the oval Sissix die and sponged the edges of it with Early Expresso. The background was made with the "Sanded" stamp. I hope you like it!

Going Home

Well it has been a fun and busy two days here in Nashville but I am exhausted from all the information I received from the awesome classes I attended here at Leadership Conference. And did I mention all the amazing gifts Stampin Up gave us? Stamp sets, paper, purses, necklaces, glitter, material. Oh my gosh! It was just too much fun! It sure does get your "I want to get home and stamp and recruit everyone to this wonderful business of stamping. I met so many wonderful people and connected with a lot of old friends as well. If you think you might be interested in joining my team give me a call or send me an email. I would love to have you.

So this little box I have pictured here is a gift I made for some of the special people I have met through SU. It has a bottle cap choker on the front which I punched a 1" piece of the new DSP, "Botanical Garden's" and stamped "friends" from Tiny Tags on it and adhered it with a little rhinestone. I also cut out a piece of the same paper for the box. And inside I put a little tin of Burt's Bees Lip Balm for them. It has a bee on the top of the container. Well it is time to pack and get this lady home to Virginia Beach. It's been fun but I miss my family and of course Mr. Darcy!!!

Leadership Swap

So here is one of the cards I made for a swap at Leadership. I will swap them out tomorrow because right now I am whipped. It's been a long day but a good day. Flew into Nashville with snow on the ground and a few flurries. Arrived at the Gaylord Hotel with my mouth opened. It is enormous and is like a little city within a building. There are all kinds of restaurants and shops. Plants and trees and some of their Christmas decorations are still up and tonight when I went down for dinner it was like a street at night with stars above. They have waterfalls and water spouts that are synchronized with music. Very cool. Well I am off to sleep. Up early tomorrow for my classes and catching up with other SU demos. Till tomorrow this is me signing off................

Nashville!

Today I am leaving for Stampin Up's Leadership Conference in Nashville, Tennessee. Did you know there are several Nashville's in the United States? I didn't know that until I was checking the weather and several Nashville's came up. It's funny how you only think of there being one Nashville or one Richmond or one Washington! Anyway, I was going to try to sleep in this morning but am too excited. My plane leaves at 12:15 so I have some time to get ready but I thought I would just sit and have a cup of coffee, watch the news for awhile and write this to you. I made swaps for this conference but not as many as I wanted to. I made two different cards and I will post them later today or tomorrow. One of the classes I am taking is the My Digital Studio and I hope to become more familiar with it afterward. Can't wait to see so many of the wonderful friends I have made through Stampin Up. We have all been wondering if we were even going to make it to Nashville with all the snow and ice but I think that things are much better at the airports so it should be clear sailing or clear flying I should say!!! Have a great day.

It's Been A Long Time!

It has been such a long time since I have posted and I thought about it as I was taking these breath taking pictures this morning at sunrise out my back yard. The colors were so beautiful and the sky looked like it was on fire at one point. You can also see all the snow we got this weekend. It's suppose to be gone by this weekend which would be a good thing because......
My youngest, Katie, graduated from VCU this month and so we are giving her a graduation party this coming Sunday. So I want the snow to be gone and the ground to dry up so people don't get stuck in our yard! So that is what I have been doing between holidays. Oh did I mention getting my girls old bedroom and my kitchen painted as well? Out with the old and in with the new!! I feel like I have a new house!! Some how with this all going on, I did manage to do a few Christmas card classes too. And Christmas shopping, and enjoying a visit from my parents as well as still working full time.
This is a card that I wanted to post before Christmas but never got around to it. Oh well, I can't do it all but I WANT TOO!!! Ha. I see all these younger gals whipping up card after card and wish I had the time and energy. I still need to make swaps for Leadership in January. It just never slows down. I guess that's a good thing. Right? I can't say I ever get bored. Well I will try to do better again here soon. Michelle Zindorf is coming to my house in February to teach classes. I am very excited about having her in my home sharing her brayer techniques. So I will sign off now but will talk to you soon. Happy New Year!

Thankful For Autumn Splendor

Autumn is my favorite time of the year. I love the colors of the leaves changing and the need for a sweater to keep the chill in the air off. I love opening my windows and smelling the fresh air. It is also a sign that Thanksgiving and Christmas are right around the corner. Two of my favorite holidays that bring families together. That means my girls will be home for a few days. So I pulled out my Autumn Splendor set which I completely forgot about. With using all the new stuff out of the Holiday Mini, I tend to forget about the older sets. So I stamped the leaves on the DSP, "Newsprint" and then sponged around the edges. Wicked Fun DSP was used for the background and the verse is from Days of Gratitude.
