I'm lucky enough to be able to go to the Stampin Up convention in Salt Lake City this year and I'm trying to get at least 100 swaps made. Since I live near the beach I created this look and made 36 of them. The seashell is from the new set "Nature's Nest" and the "sea grass" is from "Inspired by Nature. I ran my Sahara Sand paper through the Big Shot with a textured plate. I'm off to make a few more but it will be something different! I hope you like this!

Christmas Recipe Cards #2

So these are some more of the cards my recipe card group will be making tomorrow. Some old and some new SU materials are being used. I have beginner and seasoned stampers in this group so trying to find a balance sometimes is a challenge. I hope they like them and have fun. Next time we will use some of the new DSP for the cards which just arrived!!!!

2nd Time Around

I was so excited to get my swaps from my friend Tracey Old in New Zealand that I didn't notice that the calendar was crooked on the card so I am posting it again to give Tracey full credit for a job well done.

Look What I Got In The Mail Today From New Zealand!!!

I participated in a "Sister Swap" during an online class called USTAMP this month. This and the calendar below are the wonderful projects I received from Tracey Old in New Zealand. She is a very talented SU demo and was also a part of the team that gave us wonderful projects to do this session. This little purse had a double pocket that held the card seen here in one and a bunch of yummy candies in the other. I can't say enough about this awesome gift. Thanks so much Tracey!!!!

This is a wonderful little calendar that my friend and fellow stamper, Tracey Old, from New Zealand, made for me. I'm going to put it on my desk in the clinic this fall to remind me of all the wonderful new friends I made this session of USTamp.

Good Evening Everyone. I had an embossing class today with some of my favorite people. They even brought lunch!! Thanks girls! Anyway we made four cards and shared ideas with each other. That is one neat thing about stamping with friends and seasoned stampers. We can share and bounce different ideas off each other. I know a few times today I said, Gee I didn't think of that!" Anyway we all had a good time and hopefully will get together again in the near future. I was going to make some of my swaps for convention tonight but got to talking with my stamping friends on USTAMP. I spent almost 3 hours talking with them. It's fun and everyone is on a different time table. When it's night here it's morning in New Zealand and Australia. Why it's already Sunday morning over there!! There will be another round of USTAMP in the fall and if you want a fun experience and the chance to meet new stampers who just happen to be wonderful people then you should sign up. There are so many talented people out there. Well I think I might try to make some cards so I will end here for now.

I got side tracked again tonight. I was getting my materials ready for a class tomorrow on embossing and so I thought of embossing this medallion and then adding different colors. The colors kind of remind me of the West. I don't know why but they do!! These new colors might be growing on me. That doesn't mean I don't want the old colors back! I mean why can't we have both?

"In For The Long Haul"

This "spotlight" technique was demonstrated to me by Diana Gibbs (yes I know my maiden name but not related that I know of - just stamping sisters!) on USTamp today so I ignored all my To do things list and sat down and made this card. I really wanted to use the bear from the set "Under the Stars" but he was too big for this card. So use a little imagination and enjoy. Ok ok I'm going back to cutting card stock. Darn you're no fun!!! LOL.

Well I am trying out some of my new stamps and I just love this Asian Artistry that is one of the 2nd level hostess sets. I combine the use of one of the In Colors, Bermuda Bay, Gable Green, and Tempting Turquoise. I also add some vellum with one of the stamps embossed in white. The birds are stamped in Gable Green and Tempting Turquoise and embossed and the same colors are sponged around the images. Hope you like it.

For my U Stamp class one of the project creators, Tracey Old, from New Zealand came up with this awesome purse. She is an awesome stamper. Check out her blog, A Stamper's Touch. You won't be disappointed.

Medallion of Many Colors

Medallion of Many Colors, originally uploaded by Pungo Stamper.

I got this thought in my head today to try the reinkers on a baby wipe technique but use Versa Mark on the stamp first and then afterward emboss it! It's looks better in person of course but let me know what you think. I used Crushed Curry, Melon Mambo, and Bermuda Bay reinkers and then used some of the new in color ribbon. I felt like the large brads were needed for some balance.

This is a project I did today and it's called a "slider" box.
I think I will have to do a stamp camp with this one.

cool?

These are the four cards I made to go in the slider box.

Travel Journal

I am participating in a month long club called U Stamp and a new project is posted everyday. This one was Diana Gibbs project. I bought the book at Michaels for a dollar and covered up the picture on the front.

The Recipe Album club met today to decorate their albums and make their first 3 recipe cards. They really turned out cute don't you think? It was Lisa C.'s first time ever stamping and she's coming back for the next two classes. Way to go Lisa!!! I'm only sorry that I forgot to take a picture of the group. Next time, I promise. It was a lot of fun. We meet again in two weeks and I have 2 albums left if anyone is interested in joining us.

Half a Lattice

Half a Lattice, originally uploaded by Pungo Stamper.

I used mostly Big Shot dies for this card.

Monday, July 13, 2009

My daughter, Sarah, the graphic designer said this was a better picture of the cube box so here you go!!!

This is a birthday box which has calendars on the inside that you can keep track of birthdays. This project also came off of U Stamp.

Cube Box

I made this cute cube box tonight from a project on U Stamp. I used the new wood grain stamp with Close to Cocoa on Creamy Caramel Paper. I had some Walk in the Park DSP left over and layered that on the cube and followed with a flower, leaf, and Bird made with the Big Shot.

I Goofed

I should learn to ask before doing something on the computer that I'm not sure of. Flicker where I load my cards and edit them said I only had a little room left before I would have to upgrade and pay. Soooooo I thought if I deleted some of my cards on Flicker it would make more room for new cards and I wouldn't have to pay. Wrong. It actually deleted my cards on my blog. Oops. My daughter showed me how to get some of the back (only if I had duplicates still on Flicker) but I said forget it. I would rather go stamp some new cards! So sorry if there are some blanks. I have learned my lesson.

Razzle Dazzle

Razzle Dazzle, originally uploaded by Pungo Stamper.

I love this spray of gingko leaves from the Kind and Caring Thoughts set and felt like I wanted to add a little more Rich Razzleberry to intertwine with the Always Artichoke colors so I use the little sprig in the Autumn days set to enhance it. Of course I still wasn't satisfied so I used one of the Circle Circus stamps along with a brad at the top. A little ribbon and Voila'!

Read and Create

Today I taught a stamping class at the public library. Two of the ladies had never stamped but they did an awesome job. We made three cards and a book marker. It's immediate gratification to see the look on someone's face after they have completed making a card like they can't believe they made this creation themselves. I love it! It was a very nice group of ladies who enjoy creating with other ladies of the same persuasion! I hope to see all you ladies again in one of my classes. Ann, I will see you next week!

Kind & Caring Thoughts

Kind & Caring Thoughts, originally uploaded by Pungo Stamper.

This is from a level 3 Hostess Set in the new Stampin Up Catalog. I had some of the retired color Pacific Point left and put this together with it.

Dragon By

Dragon By, originally uploaded by Pungo Stamper.

This card uses leaves from the Embrace Life set and the dragonfly is from Asian Artistry which is a hostess level 2 set you can own for free if you host a party of $300 or more. The new modern label punch is awesome.

A Whale of a Tale

A Whale of a Tale, originally uploaded by Pungo Stamper.

I love this little set and the DSP "Tall Tales" is a perfect match for this little guy. I used a textured plate with the big dots on my So Saffron back ground. I used this card for a card swap.
