Just Call Me Old Red Eyes!

Well here I am with no card to post but with good reason or at least I think so. Last week was the last week of school and so there was a lot going on there, closing up the clinic as well as Bunco at my house Thursday night and then on top of that I got laryngitis the last day of school! Still hoarse but better today. Went to the doctor's after I came down with pink eye yesterday big time! I just don't seem to be able to catch a break but now I am on antibiotics and hopefully in the next day or so I will be better. You know pink eye or conjunctivitis is very contagious so I don't want to touch any of my stampin stuff till I have been on the medicine for at least 24 hours. I had to take my contacts out and wear my old glasses which are not as strong as my contacts so there's another reason I'm not stamping!!! I really miss posting but hope to be able to get something on tomorrow.

My Friday Share

I made a deal with myself that I would make one card tonight to
post and then I would do laundry, dishes, dusting, vacuuming....
so that I would have the weekend to play with my new stamps
some more. So here is my very simple card from the set,
Because I Care, which is just awesome and so versatile. This
would be a great card for a beginner's class. The DSP is the new
Newspaper Print. So I hope you like it and I hope you had a good

It's Mojo Time

I am having so much fun with this new DSP called "Newspaper Print".
Along with one of my favorite sets, Puns from the Past, I put this
together for the Mojo Monday challenge. Now I 'm going to sit down
and watch a little baseball. I'll have to flip back and forth between the
Yankee/Orioles game and the Washington Nationals with their new
21 year old pitcher and his debut. Do I hear Billy Joel's song "Pressure"
in the background. This kid has never played in the major league and he
throws very fast balls so the news media has really been building up his
first day on the job. I think he's starting with a contract for 15 million
smackeroos. Hey, I'll take 1 million for this card!!! Any takers? LOL.
Well I hope you had a good day.

You Are Just My Type

When I saw the new DSP, Newspaper Print, I immediately
thought of the stamp set, Puns from the Past. I sponged
some Stazon Black around all the edges of the DSP and the
Very Vanilla Card Stock. Then I remembered the new "Rough
Type" set in the Summer Mini which also goes well with the
DSP. I thought the typewriter was so appropriate with the
printing press in the bottom corner and the fact that newspapers
use to be typed out! Do kids today even know what a typewriter
is? I hope you had a good day.

Keep It Simple Sometimes

I have spent the entire day cleaning out my stamp room, rearranging the
new papers, stamp pads and ribbon. I was determined to make one card
before I went to bed. I just love this new Level 1 Hostess set called "Because
I Care". I decided to after trying to add ribbon and such to the card to just
keep it simple. The flower just pops out although the lighting is not great
on the card. I used my blender pen with Certain Celery and Old Olive.
I may repost tomorrow and see if I can get a better picture. I
hope you had a great day. It's getting ready to storm here.

Just For You

This was the last card I made last night. I am loving all
the new Sneak Peak items that I ordered from SU. It has
been really hard not to play with them today as I am
seriously cleaning out all the retired items and re-
arranging everything again so it flows better. I have to say
I am having a really hard time letting go of some of my
retired items. It's a good thing no one is up there in the
stamp room with me because I have been talking to my
self a lot about keeping or getting rid of. I think I have a
little angel on one shoulder and a little devil on the other,
each whispering in my ear. Keep! Get Rid Of! Keep! Get
Rid Of! What's a stamper suppose to do, I ask you? So
back to the card...(sorry for the drift). I used the flowers from
the Blissful Bride in the Summer Mini and of course the beau-
tiful paper from new catty called Greenhouse Gala. Hope you
are having a great day.

Come On and Peak Again!

Love the new DSP and this one is called "Greenhouse Gala" which
I am so in love with. Baja Breeze is back and I couldn't wait to use it
so I pulled out this paper and went to work. I decided that I will redo
the card and put the flower image from the Awash with Flowers set on
the Baja Breeze print. So stay tuned. There might be a few more cards
coming today.

It's Saturday and Come Sneak A Peak!

This is another card using the apples from the Studio Sketches
set. I used Crystal Effects on the apples which I cut out twice and
then used Dimensionals to raise the image. The "thank you" is
from the Level 1 Hostess set, "Because I Care". The card and the
1/8" Taffeta ribbon are Early Espresso.

My DH is at work today so I have had a chance to play with
some of the new stamp sets available next month in the new
SU catalog. I love all the new colors and this Cherry Cobbler
paper just pops against the white. The Kraft, oops, I mean the
Crumb Cake tones it down. The apple image comes from a set
called Studio Sketches and the words come from a new Level
1 Hostess set called "Because I Care"!

Pals Paper Arts Inspired Challenge 45

This is my card for the PPA this week. I love the colors of
Ruby Red, Mellow Moss, So Saffron, Black, and Very Vanilla.
The inspiration came from this picture they posted.

Sharing a Friend's Talent

This card was done by my good friend Carol Flach, who actually
use to be my boss before she retired!!! She took up stamping
and I am in awe of her creations every time she shares them with
me. So I asked her if she would mind if I put a few on my blog and
she sent me some. So here is one that I just loved. She brayered and
did some direct to paper technique on this one.
