Summer Bird

It's been a while since I did a challenge and the one on Stamping on Tuesdays was fun and easy.  But what I like about these different challenges is that they give you a template to make a card so different than what you would normally do.  It helps you to not get in a rut which I find myself doing from time to time.  So this is a 5x5 inch card with layers of Summer Starfruit and Whisper White card stock.  I then got my Big Shot (113439) and used my Paper Doily Sizzlits L (125592) and cut out the image with Summer Starfruit card stock.  The middle image was stamped from the Hostess Set in the new catalog called Four Seasons (126832) and in Summer Starfruit Ink(12699).  I colored the bird  again using my markers and stamped it, punched it out with the 1" circle punch and applied ti with a Stampin Dimensional(104430).  I add some hemp twine on either side since it kind of reminded me of a nest.

Birds Of A Feather

I just love this new little set called Flock Together (126732) and it goes great with the Designer Specialty Paper called "Birds of a Feather" (126899).  I used one of the "In Colors", Island Indigo card stock (122923) for my base and then used a sheet of the DSP for the 2nd layer.  The birds were stamped on Whisper White (100730) in Island Indigo (126986) and another "In Color", Summer Starfruit (126991).  The words came from the really cute set called "Friendly Phrases" (126151) and I put a brad in the center of the "WOW" from the Designer Printed Brads set (122940).  The ruffled ribbon is Island Indigo (122974) and and I also used a piece of Linen Thread (104199).  Such a simple card to make but will make someone special receiving this card say, WOW!

Sea Shells Down By the Seashore

I was so excited to see that Stampin Up added a new stamp set called "By The Seashore" (126532) in the new catalog.  So I found this pretty striped paper from the new DSP, "Comfort Cafe" (126898) and thought it looked good with the solid Pool Party cardstock (122924) and Pool Party seam binding ribbon (125582).  The stamp itself was stamped in Pool Party ink(126982) and I put a lovely half pearl with an adhesive back (119247) in the center of the shell.  For the words I used the stamp set, "Itty Bitty Banners" (126257) and cut the words out with the new "Bitty Banners Framelits"(129267) using my BIG SHOT (113439).  It's so quick and easy.
