Heart Crazy

So how cute is this. I don't know where these ideas come
from but I thought a tree made out of heart punches would
be fun. I brayered the background in pinks and cut out the raccoon
from the stamp set, Love Bandits. The Pinking Hearts Punched paper
is used for a little added background fufu. I hope you enjoy it.

Sa-Weet

I brayered over the Petals A Plenty with Pretty In
Pink ink and then used Rose Red marker to color over
the dots. Used the Sweet Pea felt flowers along with Rose
Red ribbon to make an easy peasy card! I don't think it
took me 10 minutes. Well.... maybe 15!

Home

Well sort of. I tried to simulate the long driveway with the
Bradford Pear trees that run up one side of my driveway! I had
seen a few cards done by one of my favorite stampers and artist,
Michelle Zindorf, and combined some of her techniques here. The
stamp set is "Good Neighbors" which can be yours for FREE!..Ask me

Vintage Card

One of the challenges this week was to make a vintage looking
card. I used the new Sweet Pea DSP, Vintage Vogue stamp set and the new
Fancy Flower Punch.

Blizzard of 2010!

Here's looking out the front door this morning about 8 am. It is now almost noon
and it is still snowing. Right now I'm loving it.

What Would Diana Do?

Diana Gibbs is always finding cute and cheap little items at the store that
she uses with her stamps. So back in October I think she found some cute
picture frames at Target and made a "BOO" wall hanging with them. There have
been other items as well but when I'm out and about, I find myself asking, "What would
Diana do with this if she had it!!! No kidding. So a few weeks ago I was looking through
the dollar bins at Target and found these little swivel frames that you can
decorate front and back. I did one tonight and hopefully sometime this week, I will get
the other one decorated. They have two pieces of glass in each frame so if you layer, its
a little tight. I glued the big "Pretties" flower to the out side of the one frame. I hope you
like them. And thanks Diana for making me try and think outside the box.

D is For Daffodils

Here is a card we made today using the new Abundant Hope
stamp set with Soft Suede and Crushed Curry cardstock. The
new scallop punch was FREE! Ask me why. I also used the new
Butterflies embosslit.

Stamping from The New Mini

Stamp class was so much fun today. Such a great group of girlfriends.
We made 3 cards using mostly everything from the new Stampin
Up Occasions Mini Catalog. Now I'm getting ready to go greet my
husband and the rest of the Fema Virginia Task Force 2 Team on their way
back from Haiti as I type. I can hardly wait to see him. Boy has it been a

A Great Day

My husband comes home today with the Virginia Task Force 2 team after being gone for 10 days on a deployment to Haiti. They were able to rescue several people including 2 children and a U.N. worker from Denmark. I am so proud of our men and women and rescue dogs for doing such a fantastic job. So I have a stamp class this morning until noon and then I will try to keep busy and patiently await the news of when the team will arrive. I also need to remind myself to take a picture of the stamp ladies hard at work this morning making 3 beautiful cards. I will try to post again later in the day after my dh arrives home! Thanks to all of you for your words of support during this time. I really appreciate it.

Dusty Daffodils

It's amazing how stress will get those creative
juices going. I've got a few different projects going
while my hubby is in Haiti. His team had rescued a
man from Denmark which really boosted the team's
moral. Anyway I have stuff spread out everywhere and
made two cards today that I really like. This one and
another which I am going to use for a card class this
coming weekend. I used the Petals A Plenty embossing
folder on this one and colored the center of the flowers
with crushed curry. I hope you like it!

Stamp set: Abundant Hope and Well Scripted
Paper: Dusty Durango, Whisper White
Inks: Basic Black Pad, Old Olive and Crushed Curry Markers
Accessories: Petals A Plenty Embossing Folder, Old Olive Ribbon,
Scallop and Circle Punches

Virginia Task Force 2

Well my husband left Wednesday night as part of the Fema team on it's way to Haiti. What a horrible catastrophe. So I have been glued to the TV for much of the past few days with worry but at the same time very proud of my husband. He has been on the team for many years and has gone to Oklahoma when the Federal building was bombed and then to the Pentagon on 9/11 and a few hurricanes here and there. So needless to say I have not been very productive since all I can do is think of him and the poor people of Haiti. What a struggle they have ahead of them. Anyway my husband's team pulled someone out of the rubble alive today! I thought I would share the video with you. Thanks to all of you who have said prayers for him and the team.

Group Picture

Just thought I would share a picture of my youngest, Katie with
Mr. Darcy and Missy. I love how they looked right at the camera!
Today I put my project together for tomorrow's downline meeting
at Lisa's house. Oh I think we are actually meeting at her church
because of a bigger group than usual. That's good. Right? So I cut
out enough card stock for 14 projects. We are going to just make
a cute little valentine candy card. Can't wait to see what everyone
else has to share.

Garden From the Heart

I just started pulling different colors from my scraps box and
pulled Rich Razzleberry, Elegant Eggplant, and a piece of the DSP
Razzleberry Lemonade. The sentiment is from the new set called
"With All My Heart". Hope you like it!

Ribbon Challenge

It's funny how an idea will pop into your head
at the strangest times. My husband and I were
on our way home this afternoon after he surprised
me with tickets to the symphony. We had never
been and really enjoyed it. Anyway I started
thinking about this challenge which ends today
and what stamps I could use and I love this hat
from the new Occasions Mini catalog called
Garden From The Heart. So I thought about
putting a piece of ribbon through the hat where
the stamped ribbon is. I used the DSP "Tea Party"
and some of the wonderful new satin ribbon which
is also from the mini!

Happy Sunday

This is another set of cards that I made for a gift set. I just took
a DSP scrapbook page and cut it up. Well my husband told me
not to make plans for today after 12 noon. He is taking me to the
symphony and lunch. Woo Hoo. Well I better go get ready
for our big date!!!

I've Been Busy!

So one of my friends emailed me today and said she needed
some notecard sets for gifts and so after I got home from work today,
I sat down and made 12 cards. I have been trying to use up some of
my old DSP and used the new Extra Large Two Step Bird Punch along
with the sentiment from the new set Garden From the Heart. I will share
more tomorrow. Don't want to overwhelm you with my stuff!!!

Here are a few more cards I made for friends and for some
of the kids at school. I love this Snowboarder and combined
with trees from Lovely as A Tree makes a really cool card. Of course
I cased this from Michelle Zindorf again!

This is another Zindorf cased card except instead of a "Z", I used
a "R" for my girlfriend Robin that I work with.

Mr Darcy I Presume

This is Mr. Darcy with my daughter Sarah. Whenever she comes home
to visit, she spoils Mr. Darcy. He is already rotten to the core but she
babies him constantly. Of course he is soooooo cute it is hard not to spoil

Another Thank You Note

This is another Zindorf that I cased with my "very" few changes. You think you have all the different colored card stock and ink pads and markers and then poof! You find out you don't have " Going Gray" paper and so what am I suppose to do? Improvise, which I do a lot of and so I substituted Sahara Sand for Going Gray and I must say I like the combo!!! I'm giving this one to my boss who is so generous with gifts for me every year. He has actually framed some of my work and displays it in the school office. What a compliment to me!!! I used the "Thank You Kindly" stamp set as well as the "Nature Silhouettes" set for this card and the "Serene Snowflakes" set too. Happy New Year Everyone!

Thank you notes

Many of you know what a big fan I am of Michelle Zindorf's work and so I cased
some of her work today with a few changes of my own. This card was done with the SU set
Branching Out and the "Thank you" is from a discontinued set "Wonderful Words". I used sponging and brayering for this card and several layers as well

Gifts from New Zealand

What a wonderful surprise I got in the mail a few weeks ago. This boot and awesome kiwi bird
came in a box with some other stamped goodies with chocolates from my dear friend Tracey and another fellow stamper Holly G. who made me a pocketbook with chocolates. I wanted to show you the boot and kiwi bird in our Christmas tree and Tracey, know that these ornaments will be on our tree every year now. I sent her a little package of Reese's candy bars since they can't get those over there. I hope they got through customs okay!!!
