So Call Me Maybe

That song keeps popping up in my head everytime I see this  British phone booth.  Can't you just hear the British saying, "Oh, Hello" in their wonderful accent?  So as you can see I have been playing around with all my new stamp toys and this is not what I started out with but said what the heck.  Just different but I haven't posted in so long and have to still make my swaps for Leadership so I will leave you with this and maybe I will post another later......today, tomorrow, two months from now!  I hope not but we will see.  It's raining here in Virginia and just a blah day so I am staying in the Stamp Cave for awhile!

A Different Take

Still have some Halloween paper left over and so I thought I would use it for a little different take on Christmas rather than the traditional colors.  This could be used for a man in your life!  I used the Howlstooth & Scaringbone DSP along with Early Espresso  and Very Vanilla card stock.  I sponged a little Early Espresso around the edges and added a piece of Crumb Cake ribbon and a Brushed Bronze button.  The stamp set is called "Christmas Lodge".

Digital Art Attemped!

I'm taking a online class through Heather Summers that teaches how to use the Stampin Up My Digital Studio in more ways than you would have ever thought of and this is my second class with her.  She is a wonderful teacher and explains things so well.  She teamed up with another talented lady this time, Martha Inchley, and together they are focusing on the holidays.  This image that I created is called "Subway Art" and you can make them and print them off and put them in a frame for gifts!  Now mine is very novice but there are some awesome talented people out there that have created some really neat ones and I might just have to case a few of them!  They would make very inexpensive but one of a kind gifts for those that you don't know what to give for Christmas.  You just use different fonts and there are a zillion of them out there for free that you can use and resize and color to make your own piece of art.  Once you use My Digital Studio and play with it some, you will love it!  The sky is the limit.  The possibilities are endless and while you are having so much fun, you will wonder where the time went!

Stamping Like A Hurricane!!!

Well as you can see, I have been playing today while the Hurricane, Sandy has been sending rain and wind our way here in Virginia.  Work was cancelled and so what's a stamper to do?  And believe me I have been having a blast.  I also made some yummy shortbread cookies with the Stampin Up Cookie Press and they were awesome.  Just ask my husband!!!  I used a combo of stamps on all of these cards. The top one was made with Polar Party and Wonderful Winterland.  The word, Believe, came from the Snowflake Soiree and was the main reason I ordered this set!  The card on the left also was made using the Wonderful Winterland and the designer paper came from the Festival of Prints in the Holiday Mini. The last card on the right was made using the Snow Festival DSP.  I just cut the house out of the paper and embellished it!  I hope you are having a good day wherever you are and for my stamping friends north of me, stay safe, stay warm, and I pray that your power stays on so you can stamp!!!!

By The Sea

Every time I see this stamp set title, I want to start singing: By the sea, by the sea, by the beautiful sea.  You and me, you and me, oh how happy we'd be.  La la la!  Good thing no one is around to hear me sing!   This is another Stamping on Tuesday challenge and it was definitely a challenge for me.   Would somebody tell me an easy way to trim the corners with these diagonals?  Yikes!  I know there has got to be an easier way then the way I did it.  Actually I'm not even sure exactly how I did it.  But I did stamp some shells with Crumb Cake ink on the Crumb Cake card stock before I placed my diagonal cut designer paper from Comfort Cafe and World Spectacular on it.  I then got this lightbulb moment to put a piece of the wonderful Crumb Cake Tulle ribbon from the Holiday catalog under my center piece and apply some pearls.  You know, like oysters with pearls getting caught in a fisherman's net!  Okay so can you tell I'm am a little goofy tonight.  Worked all day and trying to get ready for a card class tomorrow night after work but wanted to get in on this challenge.  Hope you had a good day!

Sea Glass

I love making 3x3 cards and the "By The Sea" set makes it so much fun when you stamp the images in different colors.  I used Not Quite Navy card stock and stamped the images on Very Vanilla.  I wrapped Linen thread around the images and added one of the new glass vintage buttons which made me think of sea glass because by the time you find it, the edges are smooth.  I added the word, "friends" from the set "Tiny Tags"(a must have item in my book)  and punched it out with the Jewelry tag punch.   So I am making these for a girlfriend whose birthday is tomorrow.  I hope she likes them.

Stippled Blossoms

When I first saw the Stippled Blossoms set (126747clear), I decided that I didn't need this set.  Ha!  Was I wrong.  I started seeing some beautiful cards made with it and so unfortunately I had to have it!!!  How many of you have ever done that?  So I start back to work tomorrow and thought I would try to squeeze in one more Stamping on Tuesday Challenge card.  I love Jenn Picard's work and this was one of her layouts.  Hi Jenn!  So I decided to use one of the new in colors,  Raspberry Ripple for the main color here partnered with Pretty In Pink and Old Olive.   To complete this gem, I added butterflies using the Beautiful Wings Embosslits (118138).  Did you know there 5 different butterflies on this little die?  I then added a pearl to each of them.
