Remembering Our Service Men and Women

Today is a special day to most of us and I for one am thankful for the men and women in the Armed Forces who serve to protect us and to keep us free!!!  I made this card for my dad who served in the Navy and fought in the VietNam War, for Father's Day but thought today would be a good day to share it with all of you.   Many of you probably remember the stamp set from the Summer Mini last year, The Open Sea.  Well it is in the New Catalog this year!  So is this cool chevron DSP, "Comfort Cafe".  I took a piece of Hemp twine and glued it around the anchor.  I hope you enjoy it and Happy Memorial Day.

Summer Smooches Is Here

Well isn't this just the cutest little purse and I made it myself!!! This is the new Petite Purse Bigz L Die that you can purchase now before the new catalog comes out. The DSP, Summer Smooches, is new as well and coordinates with the new material brads. I used Indigo Blue CS and took a white gel pen to create the stitching. You could use this to give gifts in such as candy (chocolate) or money (a few dollars) or maybe just a special note. The possibilities are endless. These items are available to you only till the end of the month.

Zoo Review

I love this little set that has the polar bear, zebra, lion, penguin, and giraffe in it. Of course it's been sitting in my stack for almost a year now and I decided to make a few cards with it. I used the Circle Circus set for the top image and just colored it to match the DSP from the Sale-a-brations catalog which I can't remember the name of right off the bat. But I use Poppy Parade and Pool Party colors and like the way it turned out.

Studio Sketch

It's funny how when new stamp sets come out, you fall in love with certain ones and go crazy with it. Then for the next several months you forget about it because there's so many other stamps to play with. Not only do I love to stamp but I love to read and for some reason this stamp image from Studio Sketches reminds me of "The Girl With The Pearl Earring" which I read several years ago! Combined with the yummy Sale-a-bration paper and the antique brad, I added some of the lovely pleated ribbon and some linen thread.

Sunday Afternoon Share

I just love this stamp set called Furry Folk. There are some examples in the IB&C (Idea Book and Catalog) that are really cute. So I played around with it a few days ago using some of the Pocket Full of Posies DSP. That name reminds me of a song from my childhood (I still remember it!). Ring around the rosie, pocket full of posies....... It has been raining here almost nonstop and there is such a dampness that is giving me a chill so what better way to warm up than to stamp!!!! Hope you all have a wonderful Sunday.

I'm Back!

So I know I have been missing for several months and believe me it has been a struggle. I have had some health issues which I have pretty much resolved except for cataract surgery next month. Then hopefully I will be stamping with full force. I have missed it so much and missed all my stamping friends. This is the first card I have really made in months and it is a birthday card for my mom. The card base is Rich Razzleberry with the Apothecary Art set from the Occasions Mini along with some of that beautiful pleated satin ribbon. I added pearls, a button and a lace bow. I hope she likes it. Hope to see you all soon.

What's Your Poison?

I am so technically challenged some days. I made this card almost two weeks ago but couldn't figure out where it was in my files after I downloaded it off my camera. Luckily my daughter, Sarah, came home and helped her mom out. I love this stamp set, Poison Pieces, out of the Holiday Mini. The DSP is out of the catalog. I sponged everything with black ink and thought the Cherry Cobbler paper was blood curdling here!!! Well maybe if you use your imagination!
