Greenhouse Garden in Blues

So the Late Night Stampers Challenge this week was to use
So Saffron, Bordering Blue, and Night of Navy. We will be say-
ing goodbye to Bordering Blue soon but Baja Breeze will be back
so I'm happy. I'm working on another card in the same colors
but am not happy with it and just got up and walked away. I don't
want to give up on the card since I put so much time into it but
who knows, you may see it here and you may not! LOL.

27th Pungo Strawberry Parade

So here is a picture of my husband, Dennis' fire truck, with him, my
daughter Sarah and a bunch of boy scouts (in the back). The truck
looked sooooooo good coming down the road and when they got to
the stands, Sarah got on the speaker in the truck and was saying,
"Hi Mom" but I was busy taking these pictures so I couldn't say
anything back and of course she thought I didn't hear her. I did, Sarah!
This is a 1975 Mack truck and Dennis spent the good part of the past two
days before the festival shining "Big Red" up. She looked awesome.

Pedaling Past on Memorial Day Weekend

I love black with kraft and white and this yells masculine to me.
This Pedaling Past bike set is one of my new favorites incase you
can't tell! So I just got back from the 27th annual Pungo Straw-
berry Festival which thousands attend each Memorial Day
weekend. There's a parade through town and carnival rides for the
kids, and a luncheon that is catered for all the "dignitaries" and their
families. They serve strawberries dipped in chocolate, and strawberry
ice cream and macaroons drizzled with chocolate. Oh and regular food
too. You know like barbecue and roast beef and salads!!! So I haven't
missed a festival in 25 years and I was able to get a ride in a golf cart(since my
foot is still in an air cast boot and I am still hobbling with one crutch)
from the car to the stands for the parade and have a little to eat before I came
home and took a nap. Made it back to the car with the help of another golf cart
just in the nick of time because it started to pour down rain. The sun is out now
thank goodness for everyone else that is still down there. So after my little nap
I had to make this card because I had been thinking about it for the last
couple of days plus I haven't done any challenges this week. I am giving my first
stamp class tomorrow since my foot surgery and am looking forward to seeing my
stamp buddies and having a good time. I hope everyone is having a safe and wonder-
ful Memorial Day.
Stamps: Pedaling Past
Ink: Stazon Black, Basic Gray, Sahara Sand, Going Gray
Paper: Kraft, Black, Whisper White
Accessories: Twine, Corduroy Buttons

Missy

This is another one of our dogs. We inherited her when my
mother in law passed away five years ago. She came from the
shelter and is the best dog. She is beagle and dachshund mix.
She has the shortest legs and sometimes we call her "no knees"
but those little legs are pretty strong and it is amazing how high
she can jump at times. Well hopefully I will have a card to
post tonight. I have started back to work half days while going
to physical therapy and it has been quite draining. I also want
to get all my stamping supplies moved back up to my stamp
room so I have more space to create. The Pungo Strawberry
Festival is this weekend and I hope to go at least for the parade
so I can see my hubby drive his fire engine in it! He's been working
hard to shine "Big Red" up for the occasion. I hope everyone has a
safe and fun Memorial Day weekend. Don't forget to say thanks to the
men and women who serve and have served in the armed forces to
protect us and fight for our freedom!

Is 50 The New Forty?

Well if 50 is the new forty then I'm not feeling it today! I started back to work this week half
days while I am going to physical therapy and it just about did me in. I am whipped. Not to mention I woke up at 3 am and couldn't go back to sleep. So I got up and made a graduation card for my daughter's boyfriend who graduated today from VCU! Way to go Andy. Then I tried to go back to sleep but never really did. Tonight my husband and I are going to a friend's surprise 50th and this is the card I made him. I like the way it turned out. I need to get some number stamps though. Oh well it is definitely a handmade card! Okay those of you that know me. I know I'm a little older than 50 but who counts them anymore? lol I hope you are having a good Saturday.

This is the inside of the card!
I used just about everything out of the new Summer Mini.
Stamps: Motorcycle, Pedaling Past, Rough Type, and King of the Grill
Ink : Night of Navy, Black
Paper: Night of Navy, Whisper White, and Travel Journal DSP
Accessories: Punches, ribbon, Mini Vintage Tag

Happy Moments

Here is the same stamp done three different ways. I love these
little flowers. So easy and fun to color. Even though this stamp
isn't available anymore, I wanted to show you that you can do so
much with one little stamp by just changing the colors. Well it
is a rainy day Monday and it has not let up. Watching the Yankees
beat the Boston Red Sox. I probably shouldn't say anything just
yet since the game isn't over. And you know what they say; "It ain't
over til it's over"! I hope you are having a great day!

I Have "Aha" Moments Too, Oprah!

So as I was searching through a sea of stamp sets, I came
across this old set, "Nature Silhouettes" and the old light
bulb (or aha moment)went off in my head thinking, I wonder
if the bike from the new Summer Mini, "Pedaling Past"
would fit under that old tree? Well I think it looks pretty
good. I used the "scallop" cloud trick too. So if you are
never sure if something will work or not on your cards, I say just
go for it and have your own "aha" moment. After all it's only
paper and we all have plenty of that! I hope you have a great
day.

Bouquet Bunch

This is one of those quick cards that just comes
together. You get so use to putting so much into a
card sometimes that if you do make something that
is simple, it always seems like it is missing something.
Here I used one of the new Spritz's, Log Cabin, t add
a little pizazz to the card. I didn't purchase the "Color
Catcher" thinking I wouldn't need it but after spraying
the spritz on the card, I also noticed I had it all over
my hands, paper, and the table. Time to put in an
order to SU!

It's Strawberry Season!

Yes it is strawberry season here in Virginia Beach and we are
getting ready for the 27th Annual Pungo Strawberry Festival.
So I am trying to make up some card sets for the season to give to
some special friends of mine. I came up with this card for the Pals Paper
Art Challenge this week. I really need to learn how to take better
pictures though because they look so much better in person. I
would love to know how some of you stampers out there get such
great photos to post. It's in the 90's here today and I feel like
soaking up some sun rays so I hope you are having a great day
and I will talk to you later.

Peonies

I haven't been able to get down the steps to see my peony
bush which is loaded with buds. So when my daughter
Katie was home on Sunday, took a few pictures for me. These
beautiful flowers are only around for a couple of weeks so you
have to enjoy them while you can. I think I need to call Stampin
Up and tell them they need to design a peony stamp!!! Well the
Yankees are beating Detroit so far and American Idol is on. I
wonder who is going home.

Mojo Monday

Well I know it's Tuesday but there are soooooo many challenges out
there and I think I have to do them all!!! NOT. But I would like to.
Okay this card started out entirely different but ended up kind of stark
and I think that's okay. Sometimes less is more I hear. So I used the
Watercolor Trio from the new Summer Mini. I was thinking of our
state tree which is the Dogwood and tried to capture that idea but
this is how it turned out. I hope you are having a great day!

Very Thankful

This Pals Paper Art challenge was a real challenge for me. I think
because there were just too many choices and I have a problem with
that! lol So I have been thinking about this one for a few days and
had several ideas that didn't work out. I kind of like this one. It's
definitely a little different and now that I look at it, I'm thinking
maybe a few bits of glitter here and there would have made it pop
a little more. What do you think? I hope you are having a great day.

Pearls and Swirls

For this week's Late Night Stamper's challenge, they
wanted us to use swirls and pearls. Since I am confined
to the downstairs and can't get to all my stamping supplies
(which are upstairs in the STAMP room) I am limited in
what I have to use. I found some swirls in the Melon Mambo
DSP and as I was racking my goofy brain trying to think of
something different, I spotted the Totally Tool set and came
up with this little number along with a saying from the
Favorite Thoughts set that is in the new Summer Mini
Catalog.

How Sweet!

I couldn't believe it when Melissa Carr, one of my very
talented stampin buddies gave me this award. It sure does lift
your spirits and makes you feel so good that someone thinks
enough of your work to honor you. So I am suppose to bestow
this award on 12 people that inspire me. There are so many
out there that are so talented but these are some of the ladies
that I follow almost daily. I wish I had a tenth of their talent but
they inspire me and keep me going.
Here are the rules for passing it on.

1. Put the Sunshine Award on your blog and/or within your post.
2. Pass the award to 12 other bloggers.
3. Link the nominees within your post.
4. Let them know they received this award by leaving a comment on their blog.
5. Share the love and link to the person from whom you received the award.

If The Shoe Fits!

This is my entry for the Mojo Monday challenge this
week. I have had this set, Humor in High Heels, for a
long time and decided to use it today. I cut all the little
shoes out and put glitter on the bows and on one pair of
shoes. I used the Razzleberry Lemonade DSP because I
thought the print had a little bit of Regal in it. I used
Crushed Curry and Melon Mambo to complete my colors.

Another Challenge

This was a challenge for the Late Night Stampers. I used
the set "For All You Do" with Basic Gray and Summer Sun
colors. I really like the way it turned out and the new Square
Lattice Embossing Folder is ooh la la! Love it.
