Still have some Halloween paper left over and so I thought I would use it for a little different take on Christmas rather than the traditional colors. This could be used for a man in your life! I used the Howlstooth & Scaringbone DSP along with Early Espresso and Very Vanilla card stock. I sponged a little Early Espresso around the edges and added a piece of Crumb Cake ribbon and a Brushed Bronze button. The stamp set is called "Christmas Lodge".
Every time I see this stamp set title, I want to start singing: By the sea, by the sea, by the beautiful sea. You and me, you and me, oh how happy we'd be. La la la! Good thing no one is around to hear me sing! This is another Stamping on Tuesday challenge and it was definitely a challenge for me. Would somebody tell me an easy way to trim the corners with these diagonals? Yikes! I know there has got to be an easier way then the way I did it. Actually I'm not even sure exactly how I did it. But I did stamp some shells with Crumb Cake ink on the Crumb Cake card stock before I placed my diagonal cut designer paper from Comfort Cafe and World Spectacular on it. I then got this lightbulb moment to put a piece of the wonderful Crumb Cake Tulle ribbon from the Holiday catalog under my center piece and apply some pearls. You know, like oysters with pearls getting caught in a fisherman's net! Okay so can you tell I'm am a little goofy tonight. Worked all day and trying to get ready for a card class tomorrow night after work but wanted to get in on this challenge. Hope you had a good day!
I love making 3x3 cards and the "By The Sea" set makes it so much fun when you stamp the images in different colors. I used Not Quite Navy card stock and stamped the images on Very Vanilla. I wrapped Linen thread around the images and added one of the new glass vintage buttons which made me think of sea glass because by the time you find it, the edges are smooth. I added the word, "friends" from the set "Tiny Tags"(a must have item in my book) and punched it out with the Jewelry tag punch. So I am making these for a girlfriend whose birthday is tomorrow. I hope she likes them.
When
I first saw the Stippled Blossoms set (126747clear), I decided that I
didn't need this set. Ha! Was I wrong. I started seeing some
beautiful cards made with it and so unfortunately I had to have
it!!! How many of you have ever done that? So I start back to work
tomorrow and thought I would try to squeeze in one more Stamping on Tuesday
Challenge card. I love Jenn Picard's work and this was one of her
layouts. Hi Jenn! So I decided to use one of the new in colors,
Raspberry Ripple for the main color here partnered with Pretty In Pink
and Old Olive. To complete this gem, I added butterflies using the
Beautiful Wings Embosslits (118138). Did you know there 5 different
butterflies on this little die? I then added a pearl to each of them.
I have been having so much fun making these little Post It note covers and the designer paper, "StoryTime" (126907) is perfect for making these little teacher gifts for the start of the school year. The paper itself does all the work basically and you just have to add a few words or embellishments of your liking. I used Riding Hood Red (111348), Wild Wasabi (108641), So Saffron (105118), Pool Party (122924), and Soft Suede (115318) card stock. For the words I used Tiny Tags (118592 clear), Fabulous Phrases (120501 clear), Itty Bitty Bits (120060 clear), and Loving Thoughts (125845 clear). Have a great day!
I just finished my last "Christmas in July" card class but it hasn't stopped me from playing with all the new wonderful images that Stampin Up has for you this year in the 2012-2013 catalog and the Holiday Catalog that starts on August 1st. Just a day away!!!! You are going to love it. Just take your time looking through it and then go through it again and again. You will want everything!!!! So today's card is using the "Christmas Deer" (128146 clear) stamped in Early Espresso ink (126974) on Very Vanilla card stock (101650). I cut it out with the new Labels Collection Framelits (125598) and used it again with the Champagne Glitter Paper (127885) which will be available to you starting this Wednesday, August 1st. The sentiment stamped in Old Olive Ink (126953) is from a new set, "Joyous Celebrations" (128069 clear) available on August 1st! I know I sound like a broken record but please please look at the new catalog. You won't be sorry!
Have been loving the new Holiday Catalog from Stampin Up which will be available to you on August 1st. Do you know that I found a new item (to me) in it that I had not noticed before? I can't tell you how many times I have gone through that catalog and never noticed it! It's kind of like going through a yard sale. You have to go through it a few times because you always notice something different when you pass through again! So today's card is made with the new Ornament Keepsakes (128051) and the new Framelits Dies(127816) that cut the ornament images out. Stampin Up has given you a discount if you buy both of them together (129950). You save $8.00! So I stamped the ornament and proceeded to cut it out by hand when my little light bulb went off and as I was finishing it I realized that I had the framelit to do all the cutting! I am such a goofball sometimes. So I used Early Espresso (119686) and Very Vanilla(101650) card stock. Candlelight Christmas Specialty DSP (126901) provides the beautiful printed background. Then I took the new Core'dinations in Gumball Green (127847) and rubbed it with the new Sanding System (129367) and embossed it with the new Lace Brocade Embossing Folder (127819). My finishing touches were with the new Scalloped Tulle Ribbon (127841) and a piece of Crochet Trim (118481) and Linen Thread (104199) along with some Pearl Jewels(119247). I hope you enjoy it as much as I did making it.
Happy Monday Everyone. I almost forgot to post this card for the Stamping on Tuesdays challenge from last week. I have been busy getting ready for my "Christmas in July" card class which the first one is in the morning. The ladies will be making 10 Christmas cards. They seemed to love to do this many in one sitting. For this card challenge I used "Artistic Etchings" (120573) with the new DSP "Fan Fair" (126918) on Crumb Cake cardstock. I added a little "Crochet Trim " (118481) and a Vintage safety pin (118764). Oh and the background is "En Francais" (109521) stamped in Crumb Cake on Very Vanilla. So have a good night and see you soon.
I have never been a big fan of the circus and I wasn't going to even consider this stamp set, "You're Amazing"(126722), but I saw a card somewhere and loved the old time look of it and so starts my story of this awesome set and the DSP, World Spectacular (126897), that goes with it. I just love the color combos. I will probably play with this set for a while. The new Ticket Duo Builder punch (126883) is a must have item to use with this set. I used Calypso Coral card stock (122925) as my base card and layered with Cherry Cobbler (119685) and Very Vanilla (101650).
So I am using the Stamping on Tuesdays template for this week. Well sort of..... I started looking for ideas for the oval template and came across my Bigz L Perfect Pendants die (123126) and the wheels started spinning in my head (scary). I had not used this die before so I decided to expand my horizons and go for it. Strawberry season is over but I thought these strawberries from the "Fruit and Flower" set (122607) went so well with the Real Red cardstock (102482) and the "Summer Smooches" designer paper (125409). The sentiment is from the new "Sassy Salutations" (126707) and the finishing touch, the button (119744) with a little bit of Baker's Twine (125572). If you like any of these products I used, you can click on the "Daisy to the right and order them right away!
So even though it was the 4th of July yesterday, it was so stinkin hot out that I decided to work on my "Christmas in July" card class. I used the easy Stamping on Tuesday template for this week and came up with this card which I just love. I used the Christmas Lodge (123769) set and Lovely Letter Alphabet (127796). I hope you all had a good holiday for those of you living in the USA. Today I am going to the beach with my youngest daughter, Katie, who is home for a week from Americorps. I want to spend as much time as I can with her so have a good day and keep stamping!
I just love this new little set called Flock Together (126732) and it goes great with the Designer Specialty Paper called "Birds of a Feather" (126899). I used one of the "In Colors", Island Indigo card stock (122923) for my base and then used a sheet of the DSP for the 2nd layer. The birds were stamped on Whisper White (100730) in Island Indigo (126986) and another "In Color", Summer Starfruit (126991). The words came from the really cute set called "Friendly Phrases" (126151) and I put a brad in the center of the "WOW" from the Designer Printed Brads set (122940). The ruffled ribbon is Island Indigo (122974) and and I also used a piece of Linen Thread (104199). Such a simple card to make but will make someone special receiving this card say, WOW!
Today is a special day to most of us and I for one am thankful for the men and women in the Armed Forces who serve to protect us and to keep us free!!! I made this card for my dad who served in the Navy and fought in the VietNam War, for Father's Day but thought today would be a good day to share it with all of you. Many of you probably remember the stamp set from the Summer Mini last year, The Open Sea. Well it is in the New Catalog this year! So is this cool chevron DSP, "Comfort Cafe". I took a piece of Hemp twine and glued it around the anchor. I hope you enjoy it and Happy Memorial Day.
Well isn't this just the cutest little purse and I made it myself!!! This is the new Petite Purse Bigz L Die that you can purchase now before the new catalog comes out. The DSP, Summer Smooches, is new as well and coordinates with the new material brads. I used Indigo Blue CS and took a white gel pen to create the stitching. You could use this to give gifts in such as candy (chocolate) or money (a few dollars) or maybe just a special note. The possibilities are endless. These items are available to you only till the end of the month.
I love this little set that has the polar bear, zebra, lion, penguin, and giraffe in it. Of course it's been sitting in my stack for almost a year now and I decided to make a few cards with it. I used the Circle Circus set for the top image and just colored it to match the DSP from the Sale-a-brations catalog which I can't remember the name of right off the bat. But I use Poppy Parade and Pool Party colors and like the way it turned out.

I just love this stamp set called Furry Folk. There are some examples in the IB&C (Idea Book and Catalog) that are really cute. So I played around with it a few days ago using some of the Pocket Full of Posies DSP. That name reminds me of a song from my childhood (I still remember it!). Ring around the rosie, pocket full of posies....... It has been raining here almost nonstop and there is such a dampness that is giving me a chill so what better way to warm up than to stamp!!!! Hope you all have a wonderful Sunday.
So I know I have been missing for several months and believe me it has been a struggle. I have had some health issues which I have pretty much resolved except for cataract surgery next month. Then hopefully I will be stamping with full force. I have missed it so much and missed all my stamping friends. This is the first card I have really made in months and it is a birthday card for my mom. The card base is Rich Razzleberry with the Apothecary Art set from the Occasions Mini along with some of that beautiful pleated satin ribbon. I added pearls, a button and a lace bow. I hope she likes it. Hope to see you all soon.
